Pan Seared Salmon

Ingredients

  • 4 4-6 oz salmon fillets
  • 2 tbsp ghee you can use any fat you like, but I prefer ghee and avocado oil, as they have a high smoke point
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Season salmon fillets generously with salt and a good pinch of black pepper, set aside
  • Heat skillet over medium high heat for approximately 4 minutes - you can tell it's ready when a sprinkle of water sizzles
  • Once the skillet is hot, add your fat of choice, carefully swirling around, ensuring the bottom of the pan is completely covered
  • Add the fillets one at a time, placing them skin side up, going away from you (this prevents splatter on you), and allow to sit UNTOUCHED for 4 minutes, then flipping for another 4 minutes, lower the heat to medium after flipping
  • Remove from heat, and serve as desired
