This is hands down the easiest, and most scrumptious way to do coleslaw. Adding in a grated apple adds a sweet and a delicious tang. Though this comes together in minutes, I highly recommend you chill for at least two hours in the refrigerator, but it’s best overnight. I think that’s the general rule with most cold salads! 😉

I love to pair this with pulled pork, or my favorite, Cajun Grilled Shrimp, but the options are endless. Enjoy, friends!

The Perfect Coleslaw


  • 1 16 oz bag tri colored coleslaw it should already be shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise check labels to ensure the ingredients are Whole30 and/or Paleo friendly
  • 1 medium apple grated with a box grater
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp course ground mustard


  • In a small bowl, mix together mayo, apple cider vinegar, mustard, celery seeds, salt and pepper, set aside
  • In a large bowl, gently mix the coleslaw mix and apple
  • Then, pour the dressing onto the coleslaw mix, and thouroughly combine
  • Cover with a lid, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, best if overnight
  • Enjoy
